I am still playing catch-up with dishes from nights previous.  Tonight, mugs and glasses were the order of business.

I love mugs and glasses.  Any sort of drinking receptacle, actually.

I love the myriad of designs that mugs come in.  I love the subtle effects these designs have on my beverage experience.

The effect of glass shape on different types of beer is well documented, however I obsess more over the effect of different mugs on the taste of tea and coffee.  Is the handle the right size?  How thick is the rim?  Is it better suited for volume as a stand-alone or is it to be used with a tea/coffee pot for numerous refills?  These are all important questions to ask yourself before committing to any mug for your tea/coffee situation.  Even given the same situation, you might find that you're not feeling the "optimal" mug, and make a different selection.  That's okay too!  That is what is so great about mugs: each one is its own completely unique experience!  Usually I want a small, thin-rimmed cup for my tea, but sometimes I go for a thicker rim and larger volume!  C R A Z Y .

Entertaining a bout of whimsy after doing the dishes, I poured myself a cup of tea in a soup bowl.  I'm afraid to say that the experience was highly disappointing.  I guess I should have used a mug!!!

Should have used a mug.
