Today I made the mistake of combining dish-doing with other cleaning activities.  I will explain why this was a mistake.

By now I have done quite a bit of dish-doing.   Although I am still learning how to do it well, I've figured out the basics and can thus let my mind wander a bit while I do it.  It's very zen.

Other cleaning chores however, I am still fundamentally terrible at: organizing, dusting, sweeping, etc.  I long for the day that these activities may also be opportunities for me to zone out, but they are simply not there yet.  Even trying my very hardest produces a result of the utmost mediocrity.

I was cleaning the apartment today in preparation for showings to prospective tenants, so there was some pressure to it.  It was doomed to failure from the start.  Even the quality of the dishes suffered!

Today was also the day I had to throw out  my favorite sponge.  It was just too gross, but I was still loathe to part with it.  All that I had left were the small sponges that Kalea prefers, which I still cannot see the benefit of.  Smaller sponges necessitate more forceful scrubbing and get crumpled up in your hand!  Perhaps the skill of using small sponges is one reserved for seasoned veterans and I simply cannot appreciate the true benefit of them yet.  For now though, they cause me nothing but chagrin.
