We have now reached the one week mark, everybody!  Rejoice and be glad.

In celebration, I have decided to share some listening suggestions for fun times instead of talking about dishes.  Just a few tunes that I have found invaluable for chilling out and/or focusing:

- The music from Katamari Damacy is awesome, if you didn't already know!  The track I've linked in particular is quite useful for getting down to work due to the odd insertions of the English phrase "YOU.  Git'up"

- I recently purchased the soundtrack from Minecraft, and it has become one of my staple "listen to while working" albums.  True to the nature of the game it's all subtle, atmospheric and unobtrusive stuff, but it's well produced and really quite lovely music without any pretension.

- For some reason, loud electronic-ish dance music soothes my nerves just as well as the stuff above does.  We Are Wolves are my go-to guys for that sort of thing.

"But Matthew," you say "what music PUMPS YOU UP?"

This does.  Every time.

Getting that last link made me stumble upon this fellow, who is obviously a talented pianist trying to find things to do to avoid working on the Goldberg Variations or something.

  1. I discovered the Katamari Damacy soundtrack after hearing a cover of one of the songs by the One Ups. I woke up to "Katamari on the Rocks" and "Katamari on the Swing" from the We <3 Katamari soundtrack for literally half a year every day for work. It always put me in a good mood...I should do that again, thanks for reminding me. Such upbeat music, it's wonderful!
